So summer has long gone and the sun has been swapped with cold temperatures. Forget cold it’s FREEZING! I do love the sun, glowing skin and long summer evenings BUT winter isn’t all bad. Yes, freezing mornings are no fun but I am really going to try to not spend the next few months feeling blue. Ofcourse I would love sunshine 24/7 but as I live in London, I have to take the cold with the hot.
Winter isn’t so bad (stay with me for this one)- I love wearing cosy winter clothes and my faux fur has been keeping me so warm, Christmas is one of my favourite times of year and my son’s birthday is December 30. And what better time of year to treat myself to a hot chocolate? So there is a lot to look forward to and that’s what I will continue to tell myself when a beach scene pops into my head!
One of the things I do miss about summer is the natural glow to my skin which seems to almost disappear in winter. Since using Suneeta’s Tumeric cream (see previous post) dull winter skin hasn’t been an issue but I have recently run out of it! I came across The Ordinary skin range on instagram and thought maybe my winter skin prayers had been answered. I also read an article in Stylist magazine and was intrigued by the brand philosophy of excellent products, low price points and simplistic chic packaging. I was sold!
Well, today I finally jumped on The Ordinary bandwagon and bought the lactic acid and the foundation. With a nod to MAC’s warm and cold foundations, the Ordinary also have a red (marked R on the bottle) for cooler tones and a yellow (marked Y on the bottle) for warmer tones. I opted for a 3.1 Y which matched my skin perfectly and didn’t feel like I was wearing anything. I love that they have a high and low coverage foundation in the same colours.
Check out this excellent skin and make up range, there is nothing ordinary about The Ordinary
